Despite some setbacks to the council’s stated desire to actively assist in the development of a “city center,” the council is planning to spend $160,000 for a consultant to move forward with the city’s Livable Center Initiative Study. The city is choosing TSW to start on plans for the city center in late November with a completion date of the study by September 2020.
City of Peachtree City
Grant amount: $128,000
The city of Peachtree City, one of the first recipients of LCI funds in 1999, will update its LCI plan to study the potential redevelopment of the City Hall area and nearby Aberdeen Village commercial district into more walkable, connected places.
ARC’s LCI grant program incentivizes local jurisdictions to re-envision their communities as vibrant, walkable places that offer increased mobility options, encourage healthy lifestyles and provide improved access to jobs and services.
