Don,
Your actions to date as my Councilman maintains not only my faith in you but, I am assured that both you and Doug are the loyal voices of the residents. Specifically, your vote to not approve the land sale on the west side echoed what the voters said back in the fall. Your work to upgrade existing codes, etc is long overdue, and although I did not agree on the moratorium issue, I wholeheartedly agree on the purpose of which it was intended. You and Doug will have many more battles with the Mayor, and while in the minority I encourage your openness and candor on as many issues as time will allow. Should either of you need any assistance from me, it is readily available. Mike King |

Thank you very much, Mike. It is much appreciated.
Never fear, we battle on and there are many more ordinance and other changes ahead. Be it done in the next vote or in two years, it will eventually get done. Events have proven the Moratorium would have been of huge benefit. We would not be having this battle on 54 W if it had been engaged. Nor would the Walgreen's issue have been in the mix, since this was a known issue mid last year and some form of ordinance controls would have been worked out before the Moratorium would have been lifted. Fact is I feel strongly it was brought up now out of fear our ordinance changes would have put better development controls out there to have blocked this. |

Either way, the controls to which you allude are long overdue.
Keep up the good work, and say hello to your better half for Shirley and I. Mike |
